Wood-Firing & Global Shipping

Immersing Completely into the Art of Sculpting

This 7-day period is designed to step away from the long wait required for kiln firing, allowing you to focus entirely on the practice of 'Buncheong decorative techniques'—carving, scratching, and filling the clay's surface.

Wood-Kiln Firing & Global Shipping (Private Optional Add-on)

Among your practice pieces imbued with your soul, the most perfect creations can be reborn as eternal artworks within Hwasimdoyo’s fierce traditional wood-fired kiln.

Firing Fee

150 USD per piece (Subject to the Master’s strict kiln management standards, a maximum of 3 pieces per person is permitted.)

Selected pieces will receive the baptism of fire according to Hwasimdoyo’s official firing schedule, and upon completion, will be carefully packed and individually shipped to your home. (Global shipping fees apply separately.)

Notice

Un-fired practice pieces cannot be taken outside the studio and will be discarded after a certain period. However, the 'Inhwamun (traditional stamp)' that you carved yourself will be carefully bisque-fired in a small electric kiln by the Master and safely returned to you.

Sanctuary Rules

Two women are working on decorating or painting large pottery plates in a workshop. One woman with gray curly hair is standing and writing or drawing on a plate, while the other woman with red hair is seated, holding a decorated plate and working on its design.

Put Down the Digital, Awaken Your Senses

Hwasimdoyo is an intimate sanctuary where the Master and his apprentices actually live, breathe, and work. For perfect immersion and privacy protection, access to unauthorized areas and any personal photography or videography inside the studio are strictly prohibited. You are to focus solely on your work. All shining moments of the workshop will be officially recorded and professionally photographed by Hwasimdoyo and dedicated to you.

Aprons, towels, and a premium set of professional carving tools personally hand-carved and refined by Master Im Kyungmoon will be provided on a rental basis for the 7 days of practice. The tools placed in your hands are engraved with unique numbers, they are not mere objects, but the Master's precious assets, and will be collected at the end of each day's session. Please handle them with strict care throughout the course and return them completely upon the conclusion of the schedule.

Accommodation is not included in this masterclass fee, so you must individually book your stay in downtown Jeonju or near Wanju. For transportation from your accommodation to the studio, you must use your own vehicle or public transportation (taxi, bus).

To ensure you face no inconvenience on unfamiliar roads, we provide full support with public transit routing and taxi reservation services. (Upon request, a local coordinator will join you on your commute to the studio.)
